Building in Cosmopolis.
Cosmopolis is a small town of older homes on good-sized lots, a few minutes from our Aberdeen shop.
Permits: City of Cosmopolis or Grays Harbor County, depending on the address. We pull them and handle the drawings and engineering when a job needs them.
Who does the work.
Our own crews do most of it: Nick's crew (Nick, Alex, Brian, Alexis and Jose), the build crew (Ray, Andrew, Mike, Chris, Colton and Kaden), and Andy, Hunter and Cliff on maintenance. For the rest we call local trades we've worked with for years. Spivey Building Co. is licensed, bonded and insured (WA L&I SPIVEBC764M4), with the office and shop at 101 N Park Street in Aberdeen.
Common questions.
Is it cheaper to renovate or build new?
Usually renovating, because you keep the foundation and shell. We estimate room by room so you can see where the money goes.
How do you price a whole-house job?
Line by line, with real allowances, before demo. The number you sign is the number you pay unless you change the plan.
Do you do additions and ADUs too?
Yes. Bump-outs, primary suites, second stories, garage conversions and detached ADUs.
